Professor Jonathan Friedland is Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research & Enterprise) and Professor of Infectious Diseases at St George's, University of London, and formerly Hammersmith Campus Director and Head of Infectious Diseases & Immunity at Imperial College London.

Education & training: Medical training at Cambridge and King's College Hospital followed by higher clinical and academic training in London with competitive research fellowships.

Clinical interests: Infectious diseases with a focus on tuberculosis and migrant health, integrating host-directed approaches with comprehensive internal medicine.

Research, teaching & leadership: Over 250 peer-reviewed papers and books on innate immune responses and host-mediated therapy in TB, sustained leadership of research strategy and supervision of clinical and doctoral trainees.
