Professor David Veale FRCPsych FBPsS is a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in obsessive–compulsive and related disorders (OCD, BDD, health anxiety, emetophobia) and a leading practitioner of evidence-based CBT.
Appointments: Consultant Psychiatrist at South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and Professor in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies at King's College London.
Clinical interests: Specialist CBT for OCD and BDD, rapid treatment protocols for depression (including wake and light therapy) and relapse prevention.
Service & outreach: Co-runs the Overcoming OCD Clinic and produces widely used patient resources and media guidance on intrusive thoughts and body image.
Research & teaching: Author of numerous peer-reviewed papers, trials and clinical guidelines in OCD and BDD; regular national and international teaching.
