Professor David Nicol is Chief of Surgery and a Consultant Urologist at The Royal Marsden, specialising in complex kidney and testicular cancer and surgery for adrenal and retroperitoneal tumours, with an international career spanning the UK and Australia.
Education & training: Fellowship-trained urologic oncologist with senior appointments including Consultant Uro-oncologist at UCLH and Clinical Lead for Renal Transplantation at the Royal Free prior to his current role; formerly Director of Urology and Renal Transplantation at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, and Professor of Surgery at the University of Queensland.
Clinical interests: Nephrectomy and complex renal-mass surgery, IVC tumour-thrombus management, retroperitoneal lymph-node dissection for germ-cell tumours and salvage procedures after systemic therapy, delivered within tertiary MDTs.
