Professor Pratik Choudhary is a clinical academic and Honorary Consultant whose work centres on type 1 diabetes, hypoglycaemia and diabetes technology, combining academic leadership with specialist clinics in London.

Education & training: Spent over 15 years at King's College London leading experimental-medicine programmes and clinical services before taking up a professorial role at the University of Leicester, with ongoing roles in national diabetes organisations and structured-education programmes such as DAFNE.

Clinical interests: Type 1 diabetes, prevention and treatment of impaired hypoglycaemia awareness, insulin pumps and closed-loop systems and CGM-enabled care, and islet/pancreas transplant pathways integrated with technology and education.

Research, teaching & leadership: Runs research on neuroimaging and central mechanisms of hypoglycaemia unawareness and implementation science for technology adoption, and serves on professional bodies steering national tech-enabled diabetes care.

Service & systems: Builds end-to-end, measurement-based pathways linking education, psychology and device therapy with shared decision-making and outcomes tracking across NHS and independent-sector clinics.
