Dr Avi Kulkarni MBBS FRCOphth is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon providing cataract and comprehensive eye care at The London Clinic Eye Centre and affiliated London hospitals.

Education & training: Completed full UK ophthalmology training with higher surgical competency in cataract and anterior segment, and additional exposure to medical retina and glaucoma.

Clinical interests: Modern small-incision cataract surgery including toric and premium IOLs, YAG laser capsulotomy and iridotomy, glaucoma assessment and treatment optimisation and rapid-access management of common anterior and posterior segment conditions.

Research, teaching & leadership: Involvement in service evaluation of cataract outcomes and complication governance, and regular teaching for optometrists and GP referrers on red-flag recognition and referral quality.

Service & systems: Delivers streamlined, same-day biometry and consent, safety-checklist-based theatre flow and structured postoperative review with outcome tracking.
