Dr Hema Palanyiaya is a Consultant Neurodevelopmental Paediatrician with more than 13 years of paediatric experience and a full-time NHS consultant post.

Education & training: UK specialist training in community child health and paediatric neurodisability with advanced practice in developmental assessment and muscle tone management.

Current roles: Leads the Neurodisability, Muscle Tone Management and Paediatric Transitional Care services at Evelina Community Child Health, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, alongside clinics at Chase Lodge Hospital.

Clinical interests: Autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, developmental delay, cerebral palsy and complex neurodisability; ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin for spasticity; social paediatrics and child protection.

Service & systems: Delivers MDT, guideline-aligned pathways with standardised developmental profiling, school and therapy liaison and outcomes-tracked follow-up for families.
