Dr Mohammad Alam FRCPCH is a Consultant Paediatrician and Neonatologist at Barts Health NHS Trust and Clinical Lead for Neonatal Services at Newham Hospital, with over 25 years’ experience.

Education & roles: NHS Training Programme Director and former RCPCH College Tutor; Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London (School of Medicine & Dentistry); leadership in neonatal service development and governance.

Clinical interests: Newborn feeding difficulties and growth, children’s food allergy, respiratory conditions and childhood asthma, eczema/atopic disease and comprehensive general paediatrics.

Service & systems: Protocolised asthma and allergy pathways with written action plans, technology-enabled follow-up and multidisciplinary coordination across community and hospital care.
