Dr Gaurav Kumar is a Consultant ENT and Head & Neck Surgeon with a specialist interest in voice and swallowing disorders and airway safety, practising in London alongside his NHS leadership as Clinical Lead for ENT at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Education & training: Postgraduate and Master's degrees completed prior to UK higher training and FRCS(ORL-HNS), with advanced training at University College London and focused development in laryngology, dysphagia and airway management.

Clinical interests: Hoarseness, dysphonia and vocal-fold pathology, dysphagia, snoring and sleep apnoea, rhinoplasty and endoscopic ear and sinus surgery for adults and children, supported by comprehensive audiology and therapy teams.

Research, teaching & leadership: Revised tracheostomy guidelines within his NHS trust, tutors on Front-of-Neck Access courses and introduced the Airway Alert Pathway concept to enhance peri-operative safety.

Service & systems: Runs one-stop voice and airway clinics integrating laryngoscopy, acoustic/perceptual analysis and therapy-first pathways, with surgical intervention where indicated and structured outcome audits.

Selected publications & contributions: Patient and referrer education on voice care and swallowing safety and presentations on airway pathways and tracheostomy governance.
