Dr Andrew Plumb PhD FRCR is Associate Professor of Medical Imaging at University College London and a Consultant Gastrointestinal Radiologist at UCLH, internationally recognised for imaging of inflammatory bowel disease and abdominal oncology; he served as the Royal College of Radiologists Roentgen Professor in 2018/19.

Education & training: Academic and clinical appointments at UCL/UCLH with fellowship-level expertise in advanced ultrasound, CT and MRI for GI disease and pelvic floor disorders, coupled with leadership in imaging education.

Clinical interests: IBD (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), colorectal and small-bowel cancer pathways, cancer of unknown primary, hernias and pelvic floor imaging, and evidence-based ultrasound in abdominal diagnostics.

Research, teaching & leadership: Highly cited researcher with an extensive UCL publication record and invited faculty roles; builds consensus and practical guidance on GI imaging quality and reporting standards.

Service & systems: Integrates imaging with MDT decision-making, clinical trials and PROMs to support personalised therapy and surveillance across UCLH cancer and IBD services.
