Professor Giuseppe Kito Fusai is a Consultant HPB and Liver Transplant Surgeon at the Royal Free Hospital and Professor of Surgery at University College London, with an international career in complex liver, pancreatic and biliary surgery.

Education & training: Qualified at the University of Milan, obtained a Master of Surgery at the University of Parma, moved to the UK in the mid-1990s and became FRCS(Ed), subsequently consolidating HPB and transplant expertise across leading UK centres before joining the Royal Free Liver Unit.

Clinical interests: Major liver resection, vascular reconstruction for hilar cholangiocarcinoma and colorectal liver metastases, pancreaticoduodenectomy and management of benign and malignant biliary disease, integrated with transplant pathways.

Research, teaching & leadership: Senior investigator and supervisor in HPB oncology and transplant surgery at UCL/Royal Free with extensive peer-reviewed output, regular invited faculty roles and international education in complex HPB techniques.

Service & systems: Leads MDT-embedded HPB pathways aligning hepatology, oncology, interventional radiology and anaesthesia with ERAS protocols and outcomes auditing.

Selected publications & contributions: High-impact publications in HPB oncology and transplant outcomes and guideline contributions to complex biliary and pancreatic surgery.
