Mr Reza Mirnezami MB BS BSc PhD FRCS is a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon and Clinical Director for Colorectal, General and Emergency Surgery at the Royal Free Hospital, leading the Colorectal Cancer MDT and a high-volume robotic and laparoscopic programme.
Education & training: Advanced colorectal training at University College, St Thomas’ and St Mark’s Hospital including a year as Resident Surgical Officer, with subsequent consultant appointment at the Royal Free and ongoing leadership roles in complex colorectal surgery.
Clinical interests: Operative management of early and advanced colorectal cancer, midgut neuroendocrine tumours, intestinal failure, inflammatory bowel disease and complex abdominal wall reconstruction, with organ-preservation and minimally invasive strategies where suitable.
Research, teaching & leadership: Departmental leadership across colorectal, general and emergency surgery, regular invited lectures and supervision of trainees in robotic and advanced laparoscopic techniques, and participation in clinical trials portfolios.
