Dr Carolina Fernandez MBBS BSc(Hons) MRCP(Derm) is a Consultant Dermatologist at Imperial College Healthcare with clinics at Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals, providing comprehensive medical dermatology and specialist skin cancer genetics care.

Education & training: Graduated from Imperial College London Medical School and completed postgraduate dermatology training across the South London Training Programme (St George's, St Helier, Kingston) before moving to the North London Programme (St Mary's, Chelsea & Westminster, Charing Cross).

Clinical interests: Skin cancer and familial cancer syndromes, genetic dermatology and inflammatory dermatoses within multidisciplinary pathways that integrate dermoscopy, surgery and genetics.

Research, teaching & leadership: Involved in clinical trials and investigator-led research with multiple presentation awards, and co-runs a specialist dermatology–genetics clinic with clinical genetics colleagues to assess hereditary skin-cancer risk.

Service & systems: Provides imaging-led assessment, mole mapping and risk-stratified follow-up with MDT review and clear safety-netting for high-risk and hereditary cases.

Selected publications & contributions: Outputs and invited talks in cutaneous oncology and genetics, and ongoing education for trainees and referrers.
