Professor Dame Janet E. Husband DBE FRCR FMedSci is Emeritus Professor of Radiology at the Institute of Cancer Research and a former Consultant Radiologist, Academic Head of Radiology and Medical Director at The Royal Marsden Hospital, renowned for pioneering CT in cancer diagnosis, staging and follow-up.

Education & training: Early research on the prototype whole-body CT scanner at Northwick Park (1970s) preceded senior academic and clinical roles at The Royal Marsden and ICR, culminating in a personal Chair in 1996.

Clinical interests: Cross-sectional oncologic imaging across solid tumours with emphasis on quantification, response assessment and longitudinal surveillance in comprehensive cancer pathways.

Research, teaching & leadership: Former President of the Royal College of Radiologists (2004–2007) and Medical Director at The Royal Marsden (2003–2006), with a career of influential publications and guideline work in CT-based cancer imaging.

Awards & honours: Appointed DBE for services to medicine; Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences; multiple national leadership roles across UK radiology and cancer organisations.
