Professor Shanta J. Persaud is Professor of Diabetes and Endocrine Pharmacology at King’s College London, recognised for seminal work on signalling pathways that regulate insulin secretion and β-cell mass.
Education & training: First-class BSc in Physiology & Pharmacology followed by a PhD on regulation of insulin secretion from islets of Langerhans, leading to an academic career at King’s.
