Professor Geoffrey Rose BSc MBBS MS DSc MRCP FRCS FRCOphth is Senior (Honorary) Consultant at Moorfields Eye Hospital and a leading authority in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery.
Education & career: Appointed to the consultant staff at Moorfields in 1990 and former Director of the Adnexal Service, with parallel NIHR/UCL research roles.
Clinical & research contributions: Pioneered small-incision orbital decompression for thyroid eye disease and characterised clinical syndromes such as Giant Fornix Syndrome, with over 300 publications and invited named lectures.
Leadership & honours: Past-President of BOPSS and ESOPRS and recipient of ASOPRS’ Lester Jones Anatomy Award, reflecting international leadership in adnexal disease.
Practice & teaching: Continues to deliver complex orbital and lacrimal surgery within MDT pathways and mentors surgeons worldwide.
