Mr Richard Lee MBBS BSc DIC MSc PhD FRCOphth is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Lead Clinician for the Glaucoma and Cataract Surgery service.
Education & training: Graduated from University College London (2006), completed London Deanery ophthalmology training and a glaucoma subspecialty surgical fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital where he was appointed Chief Fellow.
Academic work: Awarded an NIHR clinical research fellowship developing a novel surgical glaucoma device, completing a PhD at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and an MSc in Surgical Technology at Imperial College London with Distinction.
Clinical interests: Medical, laser and surgical glaucoma care including SLT, MIGS (e.g. iStent, micro-shunts), trabeculectomy and tube surgery, together with routine and refractive cataract surgery.
Research & teaching: Author of 50+ publications and book chapters, with invited national and international presentations and active roles in College and specialty societies.
Service & systems: Runs data-driven, protocolised glaucoma and cataract pathways with structured shared decision-making, visual-field/OCT monitoring and longitudinal outcomes audit.
