Professor of Ophthalmology and consultant in ocular oncology and vitreo‑retinal surgery.

Professor Mandeep S. Sagoo PhD FRCOphth FRCS(Ed) is Professor of Ophthalmology and Ocular Oncology at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital, the London Ocular Oncology Service (Moorfields & St Bartholomew's) and the London Retinoblastoma Service (Royal London Hospital).

Education & training: Trained at London and Cambridge Universities with fellowships in Medical Retina at Moorfields and Ocular Oncology as a Fulbright Scholar at Wills Eye Institute, Philadelphia; PhD in retinal physiology (MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge).

Clinical interests: Adult and paediatric ocular tumours including uveal melanoma, retinoblastoma and ocular-surface neoplasia, delivered within MDT oncology pathways.

Research & leadership: Leads translational programmes spanning tumour biology, imaging and therapeutics; extensive peer-reviewed output and senior roles across ocular oncology networks.

Service & systems: Designs guideline-aligned diagnostic, treatment and survivorship pathways with genetic counselling and vision-rehabilitation interfaces.
