Professor Prabhakar Rajan MBBChir PhD FRCS(Urol) is a Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon at Barts Health and University College London Hospitals and Professor of Urology & Robotic Surgery and Group Leader at the Barts Cancer Institute, Queen Mary University of London.

Education & training: Studied physiology and medicine at the University of Cambridge, completed surgical training in Edinburgh and Glasgow and undertook a clinical and research fellowship in robotic prostate cancer surgery at the Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm.

Clinical interests: Robotic radical prostatectomy for localised prostate cancer, surgery for advanced testicular (germ-cell) cancer and comprehensive diagnostic pathways including PSA testing and prostate MRI.

Research, teaching & leadership: Leads a laboratory programme on prostate-cancer biology and RNA splicing, runs clinical trials in prostate and testicular cancers and serves as trustee and advisor to national cancer charities and networks.

Service & systems: Develops data-driven cancer pathways across Barts/UCLH with MDT integration, enhanced recovery and outcomes evaluation.

Awards & honours: Appointed Chair of Urology & Robotic Surgery at QMUL (2023) with national recognition for innovation in robotic surgery and testicular-cancer surgery.
